This classic 8-day Golden Triangle Tour with Encounters Travel for just £379 is a great introduction to Northern India and combines tours of the famous ‘Golden Triangle’ with time in Ranthambore National Park.
The staff will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Delhi on day one, but on day two, you can begin your sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi!
Explore Old and New Delhi
You have a full day to see the sights of India’s capital. Take a rickshaw ride through the chaotic streets, visit the Jama Masjid, see Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation ground and see Humayun’s Tomb.
Journey to the Taj Mahal
Depart Delhi and drive to Agra. Taste the local Indian food, and visit the UNESCO world heritage site at Agra Fort, which is a huge complex with some epic history.
Later, take part in a full sightseeing tour of the beautiful Taj Mahal at sunset.
The Abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri
See the well preserved, yet eerie abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. This city once served as the Mughal Empire’s capital from 1571 until 1585, so has an abundance of history just waiting to be discovered. Net up is a stop at Keoladeo National Park, before a drive through rural India and arriving in Jaipur.
The Amber Palace
Visit the Amber Palace and enjoy a guided tour through the site. Elephant rides up to the fort are also available. Take in the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palac and some amazing local temples.
Have some free time in Jaipur in the morning and perhaps take some optional tours, such as kite flying, food shopping, food tasting and craft market shopping!
Next up, head into the rural semi-desert Shekhawati region before spending the night in another heritage hotel that is full of history.
The journey back to Delhi
Leaving Rajasthan, you stop at the Cyber Hub or Ambience Mall at Gurgaon on your way back to Delhi. Spend the rest of the day exploring Delhi and doing some final sightseeing.
More sightseeing – or head to Goa or Ranthambore National Park
Your final day provides you with a little time for more sightseeing, however you could add an extension to Ranthambore National Park or Goa if you don’t fancy being taken back to the airport just yet!
