When is the Melbourne Cup Carnival?

The Historic Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria is the host venue for all Melbourne Cup Carnival races and many events throughout the week between Saturday, November 2 and Saturday, November 9, 2019. 

Four separate days of thoroughbred racing are scheduled during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Each unique race day is named for the marquee race event occurring on that day.

  • Day 1 / Saturday, November 2 – AAMI Victoria Derby Day
  • Day 2 / Tuesday, November 5 – Lexus Melbourne Cup Day

How to Watch the 2019 Melbourne Cup

On TV

Three TV networks are slated to broadcast the proceedings from Flemington in 2019. 

Network Ten extends its coverage to new heights this year with free-to-air broadcasts. The national channel will feature in-depth coverage on all four Melbourne Cup Carnival race days.

Racing.com, Australia’s dedicated thoroughbred racing media platform, brings you broadcasts all week long on Channel 78 (metro) and Channel 68 (regional)

Subscription service network Foxtel (Channel 522) will also broadcast live on all race days throughout Melbourne Cup week.
