James Walsh (Starsailor) Tours Australia

Don’t miss the James Walsh (Starsailor) Tours Australia with Sarah MacLeod!

In what guarantees to be a series of incredible shows Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus, Screaming Bikini) will join James Walsh, frontman of critically acclaimed UK Band Starsailor, on his upcoming March tour of Australia.

Sarah  has been one busy woman over the last few years, and is currently focusing on her rock band, Screaming Bikini. After touring extensively with The Superjesus for so long she decided she wanted to try some different projects. She has been all round the world five times over writing songs for lots of different artists, and in the process gained international chart success.

But it was her fans in Australia that demanded she bring back her acoustic guitar. For six months last year she performed an incredibly successful run of intimate shows, which received rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Performing acoustic versions of songs from her early days with The Superjesus, and her exciting new project ‘Screaming Bikini,’ it’s her voice that really shines in this environment; the tender side of a rock n roll powerhouse performer. This alone is a show not to be missed.

Sarah will be supporting James Walsh the lead singer, songwriter and frontman of critically acclaimed UK band Starsailor, on his full Australian tour which has now been extended to include Byron Bay & Adelaide along with previously announced shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

In less than 10 years, James Walsh, as singer, songwriter and frontman of Starsailor achieved what most musicians can only dream of. In 2001 the then unknown Starsailor, were hailed as “the new Coldplay” after only their second gig.

They then landed the cover of NME magazine which propelled their debut album, featuring James’s trademark voice and epic songs into the spotlight. A million sales followed. Starsailor released 3 further albums including ‘Silence is Easy’ and to date have sold over three million albums globally and had 10 top 40 hits including Four to the Floor, Silence is Easy, Good Souls, Tell Me It’s Not Over and Alcoholic.

They went on to tour the world with their own sell-out shows, performed on the main stage at festivals such as Glastonbury, T in the Park and the Isle of Wight Festival, and toured with the likes of the
Rolling Stones, U2, The Police and The Killers.

After almost a decade of enormous success fronting Starsailor, James made the difficult decision to put the band on hold, emerging as a singer-songwriter in his own right with an acoustic guitar and some big tracks to travel the world with. This March 2012 will see him inAustralia where he will be performing a series of live acoustic shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Byron Bay and Adelaide, and with Sarah McLeod on the bill this guarantees to be an amazing night of entertainment from two incredibly talented artists.
