Sydney Biennale Festival 2010
Every two years, Sydney goes art crazy. The Biennale of Sydney has been staged in the city since 1973, making it the fourth oldest of its kind in the world. The three-month exhibition is basically a program of special events, public tours, artist talks, film screenings and international guest lectures across Sydney – all of which are free.
Appropriately for a country of Australia’s size, the title for this year’s event is The Beauty of Distance and includes a wide range of art from all around the globe.
In 2010, the 17th Biennale of Sydney will be situated across the heart of the city in a series of venues: Cockatoo Island, Pier 2/3, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens, Artspace and the Art Gallery NSW (Grand Court).
When: 12 May – 1 August 2010
Where: Various location across Sydney CBD
