Sydney Film Festival Announces 32 Films To Be Shown

SFF announces first 32 films

The 61st Sydney Film Festival has announced 32 films that will be featured at this year’s event held on the 4 – 15th of June.

Festival Director Nashen Moodley said “We have gathered a selection of the best films from the best film festivals and filmmakers around the world and across Australia. Together this will give you a multi-faceted look at the state of our world right now – our interests, our fears, our hopes and dreams.”

Out of the first announcements there is one World Premiere, 19 Australian premieres, 13 features, 11 documentaries and a special eight-film retrospective on American filmmaker Robert Altman. Altman’s son, filmmaker Michael Altman, will be attending the festival and will be one of the many special guests.

Also announced on the list of incredible films that will be shown is “Frank”, a pop comedy featuring Michael Fessbender. And why not celebrate a spooky Friday the 13th by catching cult classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre at the Skyline Drive-in.
