The Things You Simply have to do When Visiting London

Things You Simply have to do When Visiting London

London is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is also known to have a big Australian community, in particular, with Aussie residents swapping their lives down under for a taste of Great British life. It’s understandable as to why, too.

There are several things to do in England’s capital city, but with so much to do, it can become a tad overwhelming once you get there. So, with that in mind, we thought we’d go through a few of the things you simply have to do when visiting London. Hopefully, our recommendations will go some way towards helping you have a fantastic trip!

Visit one of London’s Top Restaurants

From the likes of Murano to Mangal 2 to Two Lights, London has established itself as one of the culinary capitals of the world, largely down to its diverse range of food due to it being such a multicultural, vibrant city. The options are endless, but alongside those three restaurants mentioned previously, the likes of The Dairy, Decimo, Needoo and Llewelyn’s are worth visiting too. Really, though, there’s excellent food all around the city. Warning, though, it won’t come cheap, so perhaps view one of the establishments above as a treat at the end of your holiday.

Check Out One of London’s Casinos

London isn’t exactly Las Vegas, but in terms of European destinations where you can enjoy the world-class casinos on offer, then it is right up there. Replicate the likes of blackjack online from casino.com and visit the array of establishments in England’s capital, with the likes of The Sportsman Casino, Grosvenor Casino Russell Square, The Grosvenor Victoria Casino London, Horizons Casino, Park Lane Club London and Grosvenor Casino St Giles proving popular. The options are endless.

Visit the likes of Buckingham Palace, Tower of London and Big Ben

One of the world’s most iconic buildings, Buckingham Palace is also where the Changing of the Guard takes place. Occurring at 11.30 am and busy no matter what the time of the year, the Changing of the Guard is a colourful display of music and marching, and is a unique experience for all. Also worth visiting is the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Both are steeped in history. The Tower of London is also a World Heritage Site. Big Ben and Parliament are also worth checking out, largely down to their magnificent architecture and the fact that it’s the home of the British government. St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square are worth checking out too.

Enjoy Tate Britain and Tate Modern

One thing London certainly has over the likes of Tasmania is its vast array of highly respected, world-famous art galleries. The two most popular attractions are the Tate Britain and the Tate Modern, which house some of the world’s most important art collections. If you’re an art lover, then you can’t visit London without visiting at least one of them.

Natural History Museum

London is full of history, but in terms of its museums, the Natural History Museum is probably leading the way. Established in 1754, the Natural History Museum is considered to be one of the most popular attractions in the world, with the likes of botany to zoology and everything in-between on show.

Things You Simply have to do When Visiting London

If market stalls and a vibrant atmosphere full of entertainers and the like is your sort of thing, then Covent Garden is a must-see. Full of stalls, shops, bars and restaurants, Covent Garden – with the likes of Neal’s Yard and Seven Dials too – is well worth visiting.
