Head to Hobart for a Weekend You’ll Never Forget
Guide #1: The Adventure Getaway
If you and your friends are thrill-seekers at heart, Hobart’s adventure attractions will satisfy your cravings for an adrenaline rush. The rugged coastline and wild landscape make for an unforgettable adventure getaway. Here’s what your weekend could look like.
Friday
Welcome to Hobart! First thing’s first, drop your bags at your accommodation and get into that activewear. We’ve found you funky Airbnb accommodation in Battery Point with easy access to the CBD and plenty of room for a large group.
Before we get into the action, let’s eat!
Lunch at Little Lotus Café
There’s no better way for a group of adventurers to fuel up than with an organic, plant-based lunch. Nestled in the heart of Hobart, Little Lotus Café has a whole foods menu to die for. Fill your bellies with gorgeous local produce and grab an immunity-boosting smoothie for the road.
Climb To The Summit Of Kunanyi/Mount Wellington
It wouldn’t be a trip to Hobart without a quick climb up Mount Wellington. Only a 20-minute drive from the city centre, this is a must-do adventure for you and your friends.
A walk to the summit takes around 1.5 hours. For girls like you, it might only take an hour. Once you’re at the top, you’ll look out onto panoramic views of Hobart and beyond.
Dinner at Urban Greek
Urban Greek is a much-loved dinner spot in Hobart. For great hospitality and exceptional, authentic Greek food, you must stop by Urban Greek. The restaurant encourages a shared-eating experience, with a variety of traditional family recipes that appeal to everyone.
Saturday
Are you ready for more adventure? Today we’re taking you away from the city centre for some adrenaline-pumping activities. Fuel up at the breakfast buffet and get ready to set out early.
Tahune Adventures
Head off to Tahune Adventures, a 1.5-hour drive from Hobart CBD. Here you can experience a range of thrilling adventures.
We recommend starting with the famous Tahune AirWalk, a walking track 30 to 50 metres above the forest floor. The full walk takes approximately 50 minutes, with a few extra minutes added here and there to take in the views and snap a few photos.
Now that you’re warmed up, try out the Eagle Hang Glider. Launching you 50 metres into the air, the Eagle Hang Glider is not for the faint-hearted! However, you’ll travel 400 metres across the Huon River and see some epic sights while you’re flying solo above the forest.
Lunch at the Tahune Visitor Centre/Café
After all that adventure, stop for lunch at the on-site café before heading back to the city. Enjoy fresh Tasmanian produce and a cheeky local wine while soaking up the surrounding river and forest views.
Scenic Seaplane Flight
For the ultimate bird’s eye view of Hobart, take a scenic seaplane flight and enjoy the thrill of taking off and landing on the water. This unique experience takes you beyond the city view, allowing you to see as far as the white sandy beaches and rugged coastline of Bruny Island.
Fly back via River Derwent and see the Tasman Bridge, the city centre and Mount Wellington in all its glory. This is an experience you and your friends will talk about for a lifetime.
Dinner at Dāna Eating house
Dāna Eating House offers an authentic and vibrant South-East Asian dining experience. Using the freshest Tasmania produce, the chefs at Dāna Eating House are masters in creating bold Vietnamese flavours. With a mostly gluten-free menu and a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, Dāna Eating House has something for everyone to enjoy.
Sunday
Before you head home, tackle one more amazing Hobart adventure. This time, by bike. But first, breakfast!
Breakfast at Straight Up Coffee & Food
Fill your bellies in Hobart for the last time at one of the city’s most delicious breakfast stops. Straight Up Coffee & Food has an extensive breakfast menu with healthy choices to set you up nicely for the day. Recharge with a barista-made coffee and get ready for a few hours of mountain biking.
Pipeline Track Bike Tour
The Pipeline Track Bike Tour is the ideal activity to end your visit to Hobart. The team at Tasmania Mountain Bike Adventures will get you to and from the track and provide you with everything you need.
Take a 20-minute shuttle ride to Mount Wellington’s enchanting Pipeline Trail and gradually descend by bike to the foothills of the mountain. Ride past waterfalls, eucalyptus forest and stunning views before finishing your ride in South Hobart. This ride has a clear path and plenty of signposts, making it an easy self-guided ride for you and your friends.
Guide #2: The Indulgent Getaway
Welcome to Hobart! We’ve got the ultimate indulgent experiences lined up for you and your besties over the next few days. Are you ready for a weekend of food, wine, and shopping? Let’s go!
Friday
Check yourselves in at your hotel and get ready for an indulgent day of boutique shopping and delicious dining experiences in central Hobart. We’ve chosen the MACq 01 Hotel for this itinerary as it’s Hobart’s most luxurious five-star accommodation.

Cultura is a local favourite in Hobart and the perfect place to begin your indulgent girls’ getaway. The Italian menu has everything from classic dishes to fine-dining delights. Sink your teeth into the best Italian Hobart has to offer before you hit the shops.
Shopping in Hobart CBD
Hobart’s shopping scene has a good mix of boutique gems and large malls. First stop, hit the largest mall in Hobart, the Elizabeth Street Mall. With hundreds of stores to choose from, we have no doubt you’ll find some great buys here!
The next stop is the Cat and Fiddle Arcade. This mall has over 70 specialty stores, offering a more boutique shopping experience and some great one-of-a-kind purchases.
Head back onto the streets to discover Hobart’s unique stores, such as Keshet Design, Urban Liberty, and Esplora Fashion. If you’re looking for unique clothing that you won’t find anywhere else, these are the stores you must visit on your shopping excursion.
Massage at Endota
After all that walking, you deserve a massage. Head to Endota in the Icon Complex for a 60-minute Rest & Restore massage. This massage will relax and rejuvenate you after a long afternoon of shopping and get you prepped for an indulgent dinner degustation.
Nine Course Dinner at Fico
Fico is one of Hobart’s best-kept secrets. This incredible restaurant is a must-do dining experience for a getaway with your like-minded besties. Over a nine-course menu, Fico offers the finest versions of your favourite culinary treasures, such as pasta, risotto, fresh game, Tasmania seafood and local produce. Fico is much more than a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey.
Saturday
Today we’re visiting MONA, a Hobart treasure… but we’re doing it in style. So, head down to the hotel restaurant for an in-house breakfast before setting out for a day of art, culture and – of course – wine.
Mona & Wine Experience Tour
This full-day personalised wine tour is the best way to sample Hobart’s finest cheese and wine while traveling to the famous MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). Along with your experienced guide, you’ll travel to the stunning Coal River Valley region to visit your choice of two vineyards. Choose from Nocton Vineyard, Puddleduck, Pooley Wines and Coal Valley Vineyard, where you’ll taste a range of cold climate wines and enjoy a cheese platter or two.
After your wine tastings, it’s time to head to MONA. The museum regularly changes exhibitions to bring you the best art from around the globe. With impressive displays, live performances, and on-site restaurants, you’ll have a fantastic time with your friends at MONA.
Your tour guide will bring you back to Hobart by 5 pm, just in time to get dolled up for dinner.
Dinner at Peacock and Jones
Peacock and Jones offers a fine dining experience like no other. Ben Milbourne collects the finest produce from Tasmania’s soil and sea, which head chef Julian Volkmer transforms into culinary delights on the plate. Paired with exceptional wine, you and your friends will have an unforgettable meal here.
Sunday
It’s your last day of indulgence in Hobart, but we’ve got time for one more unforgettable experience for you and your girls.
Breakfast at Berta
Berta is Hobart’s bright inner-city café with the breakfast menu of your dreams. Guided by local organic ingredients, Berta’s menu is constantly changing to suit the season. This isn’t your typical breakfast menu, so if you’re after something a little different to start your day, Berta is the place to go.
Guided Kayak Tour around Hobart City
Explore Hobart’s coastline on a guided kayak tour. From the picturesque harbour to the beautiful Battery point, this paddle takes approximately two hours and takes you to some of Hobart’s best spots. Seals and dolphins often visit the area, so keep your eyes peeled!
You don’t need to be an experienced kayaker to take this trip. Your enthusiastic local guide knows the way and will ensure you get the most out of your journey.

Simply step out of your room and into an evening of wine, painting, laughing, and learning. Phillip will teach you to master the art of painting a seascape, landscape, snowscape, or abstract painting. There are few activities more relaxing than painting, especially with a wine in hand!
Dinner by Room Service
Head back to your room, get comfy and enjoy a girl’s night in. Catch up with each other in the comfort of your hotel room and enjoy a feast of food and wine from the room service menu. The Hotel Grand Chancellor’s on-site restaurant offers a generous selection of culinary delights by using fresh seafood, locally-sourced meats, Tasmanian cheese, and local cold climate wines.
Saturday

Breakfast at Pigeon Hole Café
The Pigeon Hole Café is one of Hobart’s best breakfast and brunch spots. With their ‘paddock to plate’ menu, Pigeon Hole Café creates spectacular dishes from the seasonal produce from Weston Farm. As the café relies on what the farm produces, the menu is constantly evolving to suit the season, encouraging diners to take an interest in where their food comes from.
