Vlossom Release New Single “My Friend”

Vlossom release new single “My Friend”. Having enticed fans into their world with their debut single “Catch Your Breath” and follow up single “Tabs”, today Vlossom unveil another glimpse of their magical realm with the release of their new single “My Friend”. Written by Vlossom’s Nick Littlemore and Alister Wright, alongside Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Empire Of The Sun), “My Friend” evokes a sense of vibrancy and ecstasy melded with Vlossom’s signature psychedelic sounds, and is the title track of Vlossom’s upcoming debut EP, set to drop on April 3^rd via Lab78.

“Initially we were trying to evoke a half-imagined scene of krautrock happening some time in the early 1960s,” explains Littlemore. “Then taking a lot of that sound and fusing it with Vlossom’s own floral vibrancy, overflowing and touching every corner. There is something like a phenomenon in Alister’s voice and it can in the one moment channelling a deep welling up and sadness, as well as an ecstatic magic limitlessly laden with bliss.”

The new single follows on from Vlossom’s first live shows in Australia, where they took over Sydney’s The Lansdowne for an electric four-show residency throughout January, with more Australian and debut US shows to be announced.

Vlossom is a newly-birthed collaboration between Australian musicians Nick Littlemore (of multi-platinum selling acts Empire of the Sun & PNAU) and Alister Wright (frontman of Australian indie rock band Cloud Control). Vlossom symphonize elements of pop, psych-rock and electronic music into something strangely multisensory—a body of work possessed of its own distinct texture and temperature and colour and perfume, euphoric and often trance-inducing yet undeniably transformative.  With “Catch Your Breath” reaching the top 5 most played on Australia’s national youth station triple j, as well as climbing the Shazam charts, Vlossom’s upcoming debut EP is set to be an aural feast for their burgeoning fan base around the world.
