Food and Wine Festivals in Perth

Day trip from Perth to Toodyay today

Perth, Western Australia’s sun drenched capital, is a blissful mix of urban cool and wild beaches, with countless new bars and restaurants popping up one every corner alongside the green serenity of King’s Park, one of the world’s largest inner city parks.
The city has so much going for it, it’s easy to see why visitors to this part of Australia hang out here for so long. There are more sunny days in Perth than in any other city in Australia, and sunny climes means perfect conditions for producing WA’s top class wines in nearby Swan Valley, as well as growing tonnes of fresh, organic food.
Fittingly there are some excellent food and wine festivals taking place in the city throughout the year, so plan a visit to one and get to taste everything that grows in the lush lands around Perth.
City Wine Perth
When: 8-9 June 2018
Where: Urban Orchard, Perth Cultural Centre
Taking place in a venue with some of the best views of the city, City Wine Perth is a vibrant two day food and wine festival, with the chance to enjoy some local music to boot. The line up this year features some of Western Australia’s leading boutique wineries along with craft beers and cider producers – entry tickets include the chance to taste them all and purchase bottles to take home should any take your fancy. Line your stomach with tasty tapas style food from some of Perth’s top food vendors and listen to live local music while taking in the city’s stunning skyline.
Perth Good Food and Wine Show
When: 24-26 August 2018
Where: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
The name of this three day festival pretty much sums it up. Expect a hefty load of local and international food and wine producers offering up their wares, and top chefs performing demos and offering up their advice on how to cook and prepare the best ingredients. This is a big one so you’ll be sure to get a lot of tasting for your buck.
Entwined in the Valley
When: 4 – 6 October 2018
Where: Swan Valley (25 minutes from Perth)
This one isn’t actually in Perth, but it’s pretty close and the stunning surrounds of Perth’s premier wine region, Swan Valley, is well worth the short journey. This 3 day festival celebrates the region’s fabulous food, wine, culture and music so expect a lot of pop up eateries and the chance to meet local wine makers and artisan food producers.
Barbeques and tastings are on offer, as well as wine tasting and cider supping. You’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful place to do it all.
