With nearly twice the duration of similar tours, you don’t need to stress about early starts and spending all of your time stuck in a bus. We take a chilled out approach to travelling and aim to spend as much time as possible enjoying the amazing beaches and scenery this vast coastline has to offer.


We take 9 days to tour from Perth to Exmouth before heading back from Exmouth to Perth on day 10 and 11.

To save you $$$’s we have kept the trip price low giving you the option to add additional activities along the way.

Fees included

Accommodation and National park fees included;  We camp throughout the trip at a mixture of holiday parks, bush campsites and hostels. All Accommodation and National Park fees are included in the trip price. (Occasionally during extreme weather conditions you may be required to pay an extra $10-$15 on top of the trip price for emergency alternative accommodation options).


At the beginning of each trip we all put in $60 into a ‘food fund’. This is then used to buy ingredients that make up the delicious feasts we eat along the way. The overall food costs vary from trip to trip but you can expect to spend between $5 to $10 a day for food. (Overall food costs for the trip may require a little extra to be added to the $60 during the trip or some money refunded to you from the $60 at the end)

Sleeping Gear

Sleeping bag/ Mattress/tent rental; To cover cleaning and repair costs, these can be rented for the duration of the trip for $10per person. Our tents accommodate 2 people.


  • Sea Lion Boat Trip: Take a 2hr boat trip to the Jurien Bay Marine Park on Day 2 where you will snorkel and see the local sea Lion population ($70) *Why Not Bus Exclusive
  • Whale Shark Swim; An all day experience that includes swimming with these magnificent creatures, a warm-up reef snorkel and a delicious lunch for the cheapest price in town at $380 (Exmouth on day 9).
  • Surfing; Take a surf Lesson or board rental in Exmouth, ($60 or $25 respectively)
  • Why Not Bus exclusive
  • Ningaloo Manta Ray Tour; Spend an epic day at Ningaloo reef in coral bay on Day 6. snorkel the outer reef and later swim with 2-3m manta rays ($145)
  • Rent a Kayak; Paddle through the world Heritage eco systems of Shark bay and Ningaloo reef 
  • Snorkel Rental;  2 days snorkel rental in coral bay ($10)

Day 1 Perth to Pinnacles

Before we start our one of a kind Perth to Broome Tour, we set off to the local shops and stock up on food for our delicious home cooked meals. We then head north with our first stop along the way for a quick lunch. Enjoy the impressive views along Indian Ocean drive and then explore the pinnacles desert. A short drive brings us to our camp site where we kick back for the night. Watch the sunset with your new mates and enjoy a beer.

Day 2 – Geraldton and the Pink Lake

We head to the beach for the morning or optional Sea Lion Experience before heading towards Geraldton and then the spectacular Pink Lake for some rad photo ops. The campsite tonight is at the scenic lucky bay, walk the sand dunes or swim as the sun goes down. There is plenty of space at the campsite so time to turn the music up and let your hair down for the night.

Day 3 – Kalbarri National Park

Hit the road and see the Scenic Kalbarri cliffs before a quick swim and cold shower at the river mouth. Then explore the amazing Kalbarri National Park with a few hours of hiking to Nature’s Window and the Z Bend. In the late afternoon we hit the road to our overnight stop by the river.

Day 4 – Shark Bay

This Morning we drive into the World Heritage site of Shark Bay. Check out Shell Beach, relax and swim in the crystal clear water. It’s now time for a bit of luxury staying at Monkey Mia Dolphin resort. After dinner and an amazing sunset you can head down to the jetty and spot wildlife with your torch or kick back on the beach.

Day 5 – Monkey Mia, Dolphins & Carnarvon

Wake up and walk 50 m down to the water’s edge. It’s time to meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins, if you are lucky you will get to feed flipper his scaly breakfast!  We hit the road mid morning and travel to Carnarvon to resupply. The campsite is a short drive north of here where we will settle in for the night.

Day 6 – Coral Bay

We roll into coral bay and set up camp. There are now essentially two free days to explore, Snorkel the amazing reef, (Optional Fishing charter, diving, whale shark tours) or just sit with your new friends on the beach and enjoy this special place. Usually things will kickoff pretty early and by late afternoon everyone is ready to blow off some steam and party up! Truth or Dare anyone? Our campsite is 5 min walk from the beach and everything else in town. You will fall in love with this place the moment you arrive!

Day 7 – Coral Bay

Extra free day in coral bay! Today you can really see the reef at its finest, only meters from the beach are huge coral formations and large fish. If you are lucky you might swim alongside a turtle or friendly reef shark! (Optional Fishing charter, diving, Manta Ray Tours, whale shark tours)

Day 8 – Exmouth

Today we head up to Exmouth, Once camp is setup we head down to one of their amazing beaches for the afternoon. If the conditions are right you can try out a bit of surfing on some nice, chilled beginner waves.

Day 9 – Cape Range National park, Whale Sharks, Ningaloo Reef

Today travel to the Cape Range National Park for a bit of hiking and a snorkel at the award winning Turquoise Bay. Optional Whale Shark swim. (If conditions aren’t right for surfing on day 8 but are good we can go for a morning surf)

Day 10 (Return) – Head towards Home

Pack Up and say goodbye to your friends. People who are continuing north can be dropped in exmouth or coral bay as we drive south. A roadside camp will be home for us tonight.

Day 11 (Return) – Arrive Perth

Drive towards Perth with quick stops in Northampton and for lunch, we will arrive at Billabong Backpackers around 5 pm to complete the Perth to Exmouth tour.
