Those five lads who have toured this fine country joyously and successfully for over 10 years are back to play shows in support of their fine new slab of tunes, “WHATEVER’S ON YOUR MIND” which is to be released in mid-June. Playing as part of the massive lineup at Splendour In The Grass, the band will also hit the hot spots of Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth for headline show spectaculars with special guest LEADER CHEETAH.
GOMEZ loves Australia, we all know that. It would be hard to find a true music fan who hasn’t spent time with the “fight in a music shop” ensemble over the years as they have played just about anywhere and everywhere over the country. Messers Ball, Ottewell, Gray, Peacock and Blackburn have played all the festivals, all the big rooms and a load of regional towns to amass a dedicated and committed following of loyal fans.
Their new record, the band’s seventh studio full-length release, is the culmination of international file-swapping between the band members who are scattered all over the Northern hemisphere these days. Back and forward beats, rhythms, lyrics and tempos spread all over the fibre optics, came together as one of their most defined and “GOMEZ sounding” records for a few releases. Fine-tuning and mixing as a band together in the flesh sealed the deal to deliver “WHATEVER’S ON YOUR MIND”. Available at all good record stores and online from June 17.
