10 Bands You Have To See At A Festival
Festival season is well and truly in swing across Europe and so far we’ve done a fair few! The wonderful thing about a festival is that you finally get to see the acts you may have been listening to for years in all their live glory, and to add to the fun, everyone’s in a fun festival mood.
Whether it’s an up and coming act or a fully fledged legend you never know just who might steel the crowd at a festival.
First up on our list is Darwin Deez. Having just caught this US band at Secret Garden Party 2015, we were blown away by their fun antics during their set at the Where The Wild Things Are stage, including a surprise dance routine to Enya… priceless!
Having warmed up a solid following via YouTube, twin sisters, Ibeyi are a definite must. Again we caught this show-stopping sibling act at Secret Garden Party, and their unusual tribal sounds and drumming where enough to gather a crowd within minutes.
The Carnaby’s may not be so well known, but they’re making the rounds on the up and coming festival circuit this year, we caught these guys at Into The Wild Festival.
Having taken the charts by storm, Jungle are ones not to miss. You can catch them at Summer Well Festival as well as Sziget Festival in Budapest, Propaganda in Stockholm and Bestival on the Isle of Wight this summer.
Another up and coming act to catch this festival season is Gentleman’s Dub Club. You can catch these guys at various gigs, but they’ll be performing at the legendary boutique festival, Boomtown Fair. Great for those of you that love your reggae/ska vibes.
Having just rocked Brixton Splash, you can catch the formidable Craig Charles and his funky soul vibes at the upcoming Great Northern Mod & Ska Festival.
Also hitting up Bestival this year, as well as a string of tour dates to come, don’t miss Gabrielle Alpin and her sultry sounds if you get the chance.
One certainly not to miss is DJ, Hannah Wants. Playing everywhere from Ibiza’s Cafe Mambo to festivals, Southampton Soundclash and Australia’s Stereosonic, you’d be a fool to miss her skills on the decks as well as her own tracks such as ‘Rhymes’.
Fun festival favourites, Dub Pistols, are renowned for their energetic performances. Don’t miss them at Boomtown Fair, Notting Hill Carnival and Off The Tracks Festival.
With their fan base growing steadily and their debut EP gaining thousands of plays on Soundcloud, don’t miss the amazing double act Lionbabe. This amazing duo will be bringing their RnB/Hip Hop vibes to Bestival as well as playing at the highly acclaimed Austin City Limits Festival this year!
