Сегодня состоится торжественное освящение Храма Новомучеников Российских на Лубянке. Приуроченное к празднику Вознесения Господня. Строительство храма началось в 2014 году на месте снесенных шести монастырских строений. В их числе церкви Преподобной Марии Египетской и Николая Чудотворца. Полноправно считавшихся историческими постройками, входившими в зону Сретенского монастыря, признанного объектом культурного наследия. Монастырь был основан в 1397 году и является одним из пяти старейших монастырей Москвы. В сентябре 2016 года были освящены и уставновлены главный купол и крест. А сегодня, 25 мая, пройдет торжественное освящение самого храма.
