SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium – Daily Peak

If you’re welcoming 2016 in Sydney, you can already tick off one of the must-do things to do in the city before the new year has even begun – watching the breathtaking Sydney Harbour fireworks. If you’re lucky enough to be spending the rest of the year here, you’ll have time to complete the ultimate 2016 Sydney bucket list. Make it your year to experience these amazing activities in one of the greatest cities in the world…

BridgeClimb Sydney

No matter how long you’ve spent in Sydney, you’ll quickly come to realise that the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a staple of the city. Grand, historic and picturesque, the enormous structure breathes life by linking the north with the CBD, and can be seen from all corners of the city, but the best experience of the bridge is without a doubt BridgeClimb Sydney. Embark on the journey to the summit and look out upon the great city; whether you climb at dawn to see the sunrise, during the day to be bathed in sunshine, or at night to see the city twinkle like the stars above you – you’ll be met with the greatest view of Sydney that you could hope for.

Catch A Show At Sydney Festival

Sydney’s biggest summer festival celebrates 40 years in 2016 with an array of shows in music, theatre, dance, opera and circus, as well as groundbreaking art installations and architecture. Highlights of this year include a free show from The Flaming Lips, a cabaret show called Meow Meow’s Little Mermaid, and electronic-meets-acrobatics in What Will Have Been. With venues all over the city including Sydney Opera House and The Domain, you can experience Sydney Festival from 7th – 26th January 2016.

Bondi To Coogee Coastal Walk

Ask any Sydney local what you should do in the city and you’re likely to hear about the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. Travelling six kilometres along the eastern suburbs, it’s the perfect tour of Sydney’s beaches, with Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly, Gordon’s Bay, and of course, Bondi and Coogee all starring. Pack your bathing suit for a dip and sunbathe at any of these points, and make sure you bring some money for lunch at the beachside cafes, and your camera for beautiful snaps of the coast.

Watch A Film At St George OpenAir Cinema

St George OpenAir Cinema is one of the most beautiful cinemas in the world – and it’s all down to the backdrop. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and city skyline are all in view as 2,000 film fans settle down to watch a film screening that has been painstakingly chosen as part of the 2016 program. For its 20th season, St George OpenAir Cinema will be putting on a summer experience to remember, from 8th January – 19th February 2016.

Jump On Board A Whale Watching Cruise

Take off from Darling Harbour or Circular Quay in search of wild whales. During the migration season between May and November every year, Humpback Whales travel the entire East Coast of Australia from their winter breeding ground to summer feeding ground. As a result, whale watching has become a popular activity in Sydney and viewing them is nothing short of amazing, especially if you can catch them breaching or slapping their long pectoral fins or tail. There are an abundance of tour companies providing two-hour to half-day cruises – all you need to do is find the right one for you!
