Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu
7:00am pick up from your Darwin accommodation. Your journey today takes you to the Adelaide River for a wildlife cruise that gets up close to(safely!) the infamous Salt-water crocodiles. Travel towards Kakadu, crossing the Marrakai and South Alligator floodplains. Keep an eye out for any wildlife amongst the woodlands and floodplains. View ancient Aboriginal Rock art at Ubirr and take in your first breathtaking vistas of the Arnhemland sandstone plateau. Take in the spectacular scenery as you climb atop the rocky outcrop for majestic views. Travel to the permanent campsite at Djarradjin Billabong.
Day 2: Kakadu
Time for a a spot of real 4 Wheel Driving today you travel out towards Jim Jim and Twin Falls. After crossing the Jim Jim creek, arrive at Twin Falls and cruise through the gorge, admiring the towering escarpment from the sandy beach. En route back to Jim Jim, you’ll have an early lunch. Arriving at Jim Jim Falls, walk through the monsoon forest and enjoy an invigorating swim in the plunge pool. Return late afternoon back to the camp at Djarradjin Billabong.
Day 3: Kakadu to Darwin
Up early, you don’t want to miss out. Call in at the Warradjan Cultural Centre as you make your way to Maguk for yet another hike and refreshing swim. As you travel back to Darwin, you’ll pass White Lily Billabong, home to a huge variety of bird-life. We return you to your Darwin accommodation between 6 and 7pm.
