Real Friends Release New Single And Video
American pop punk poster boys premier new music video for latest single ‘Scared To Be Alone’.
Chicago quintet Real Friends have shown in this latest release that they’re heading into a slightly heavier direction. With influences like Jimmy Eat World hinted in this new track, the band are still sticking to their notorious heart-on-their-sleeve lyrics.
Speaking about the latest single, bassist Kyle Fasel said: “‘Scared To Be Alone’ was a song that stood out to us very early on. I remember when we wrote it, the song just hit me. It didn’t sound like any of our other songs, yet it still sounded right for us. We tried a different approach in the beginning of the song with a darker and heavier sound.”
The song is about the bassist and his mother’s relationship and the ups and downs they’ve been through together.
Fronted by Dan Lambton, his powerful vocals only make the meaning of this already emotional track hit even harder.
The single is set for a 27 May release.
You can catch Real Friends live in the UK at Slam Dunk Festival North, Midlands and South from 28-30 May.
