Things to do in Mandurah when you visit
• Explore the Yalgorup National Park which is known for its elongated lakes, beautiful art and peppermint woodlands and, above all, for the microscopic communities that reside in Lake Clifton and form thrombolites.
• Go mountain biking at Langford Park, Jarrahdale or in Dwellingup. From the forest and gradual hills in Dwellingup to the thrombolites and beautiful lakes in Yalgorup National Park, you can cycle around and enjoy the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you.
• Check out the Serpentine Falls which are part of the Serpentine National Park, situated about 50 km south-east of Perth. It’s not only a great place for a swim on a warm day, but also for a picnic or a bush walk to enjoy the wildlife which includes kangaroos.
• Take a tour of the Boddington Gold Mine to see and learn about Australia’s biggest gold mine.
• Visit the historic town of Pinjarra, one of WA’s very first settlements, which still boasts many significant sites one of which is Edenvale Homestead. Edenvale was built in 1888 by Edward McLarty, son of pioneer farmers John and Mary McLarty who arrived here in 1839 from Campbelltown in Scotland. Their son Sir Ross McLarty turned out to become Premier of Western Australia, and a visit to his historical homestead offers an enlightening glimpse into the life of this influential man.
