Visit Alice Springs, Uluru The Olgas & More

Australia’s Northern Territory is world famous for it’s epic rock formations, and no pilgrimage to Australia is complete without visiting possibly the most famous rock on Earth, Uluru.

But it’s not just Uluru that takes first place in the Northern Territory. It’s in this wild northern state that you’ll also find the equally impressive Devils Marbles and The Olgas. Not heard of these rocky rivals to the great red rock? Well here’s a little info on how best to explore the area.

Uluru

Embarking on Mulgas Adventures Alice Springs to The Rock tour will take you on an epic discovery of these geological marvels.

Setting off at 6am you’ll be picked up and taken to the Cultural Centre where you will learn about the Aboriginal heritage and culture of Australia’s Red Centre. After this you will have the chance to walk around the enormous monolith, and enjoy a glass of bubbly as you take in the crimson glow of Uluru at sunset.

The Olgas
Kata Tjuta also known as The Olgas at sunset.

The Olgas

After a night’s camping under the stars, you’ll awake to get a full view of Uluru at sunrise when the rock awakens again to an illuminating glow from the blinding Aussie sun. From here it’s off to Kata Tjuta, also known as The Olgas. The Olgas are a group of large domed rocks 365 km southwest of Alice Springs.

You will then visit Kings Creek Station where you’ll enjoy a proper Outback BBQ. Whilst in the area you will also embark on the Kings Canyon rim walk and then enjoy a free camel ride!

The Devils Marbles

Heading back to Alice Springs overnight you’ll set off at 5am to the Devils Marbles. Also known as Karlu Karlu, these great round boulders litter the landscape in an otherworldly fashion. Whilst here you’ll have time to walk around the large rocks and learn about the Aboriginal Dreamtime and religious significance of the area to the Aboriginal people.

On the last day of the tour it’s time for a little relaxation as you visit the Mataranka Thermal Springs for a soothing dip and also the stunning Edith Falls where you can have one last refreshing swim before arriving back in Darwin.
