Alt-J’s Australian Shows Sell Out In Minutes

Up and coming UK band alt-J’s Australian shows have sold out in under a few minutes. The ‘Folk-Step’ band are due to play to crowds in Melbourne and Sydney. The band have just been shortlisted for the prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize with their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’. The Album of the Year will be announced at The Roundhouse on 1 November.

Lead singer Joe Newman said of the nomination news:”It’s pretty amazing actually, I’m pretty stunned. To be in that screenshot of great British albums from 2012… to be involved in that is great. We’re just really stoked. We can’t wait to go to the party, get pissed and have a great time; enjoy everyone’s company and soak it all up.”
