An Evening Out In Melbourne At Ding Dong Lounge
There’s been a bit of change at Ding Dong recently, with a new kitchen experience and dinner shows to tantalise your tastebuds and entertain for an evening out in Melbourne. The arrival of Girl with the Gris Gris kitchen has introduced Melbourne to Cajun and Creole soul food, cooked up by head chef and New Orleans native, Chris Weysham, Tuesday – Saturday, 5-10pm.
Already becoming famous for its onion rings, this new dinner delight allows Weysham to show off his style and passion for his origins, creating quintessential dishes such as Gumbo, Blackened Fish, Po Boy sandwiches, Jambalaya and Oyster Pie. Explaining that New Orleans and Melbourne are alike for their love of eating, drinking and listening to music, Weysham hopes the locals will enjoy the food as much as he enjoys making it.
To celebrate the kitchen, a series of dinner shows are taking place to make Weysham feel even more at home, and this October, will feature RocKwiz Orchestra.
Taking us back to 1960s New Orleans, every Sunday will have performances of Dr. John’s psychedelic rhythm and blues album, ‘Gris-Gris’ from 1968, plus rocking dance classics to fill the dance floor.
Whether you come for a taste of New Orleans soul food or the sounds of the ‘60s, Girl with the Gris Gris kitchen offers an exceptional evening.
