Apple Unveil New MacBook Pro With Retina Display
Apple has revealed its next generation MacBook Pro computer, which, at 0.71 inches, is being hailed at the ‘world’s thinnest’ high definition notebook.
The product was unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco by Phil Schiller, marketing executive. The machine features the company’s patented Retina display.
Other features of the new 15.4-inch MacBook Pro include a pixel resolution of 2880 x 1800, 2.7GHz quad-core Core i7s, Kepler GT 650M graphics, up to 16G of RAM and 768GB of internal flash storage.
“Isn’t the bottom of our computer prettier than the top of anyone else’s computer?” asked Phil Schiller at yesterday’s conference. And while there are people out there who would disagree, it’s hard to deny the specs on the machine are excellent.
Users will be able to view the 220 pixels per inch screen for even longer, as the “asymmetric batteries” will last up to seven hours on a single charge.
The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models will also be given an upgrade in processors and Turbo Boost speeds, Apple announced. The 13-inch will have the latest Intel Core i5 or Core i7 duel-core processors up to 2.9GHz, while the 15-inch will feature the Intel Core i7 quad-core processors up to 2.7GHz. The 17-inch version has been discontinued.
The new MacBook Pro models are available to buy now. The refreshed 13-inch and 15-inch versions are priced at $1,349 and $1,999 respectively. The 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display costs $2,499.
