Pro Zombie soccer
Ever fancied taking on wave after wave of zombies armed only with a magic football? No? Oh. Well this cartoon point and shoot actioner does this and more. Essentially a rapid button pressing ‘B’ movie with ‘A’ list visuals, this easy to pick up, hyper-violent and instantly addictive game, bounces energetically between humorous anime cut scenes and full on blood thirsty football action. With an adrenalin pumping heavy metal soundtrack, tons of powers ups and frantic gameplay, this is one high octane slice of pure 8bit delight that will have you coming back for more. Ridiculous concept, genius game.

Facevault
For those who want to keep certain album pictures safe and secure whilst on their travels, ‘facevault’ cleverly uses facial recognition software to keep certain pictures for your eyes-only. Using an intuitive algorithm, the front facing camera only unlocks when it recognizes your features, though it’s backed with pattern code recognition software that can be entered – just in case you’re new moustache/morning visage confuses the state of the art artificial intelligence. It also saves a snapshot of every attempt of entry so you’ll have a handy little photo record should anyone else try to access your personal items.

Cinemagram
Cinemagram is the latest and quite possibly greatest in the seemingly never-ending stream of photo options for smart phones. Sitting smartly between an instagram and a video capture app, Cinemagram essentially enables you to animate sections of your photos to create custom GIF’s. Sound complicated? It should be, but the kind folks at Factstyle games have made a difficult concept, captivatingly simple. First film 2-3 secs of video footage and watch it instantly convert into a series of still pics. Pick a section of the pic and Cinemagram enables you to animate your chosen section with the aforementioned video footage to create an image of both still and moving elements. The best apps are the ones that make the seemingly difficult, cleverly simple and this is where Cinemagram really shines. Whether used for comedy or memorable visuals, this is one app well worth adding to your arsenal.

Fragile Earth
A photography app that was probably designed with Michael Jackson in mind, ‘Fragile Earth’ displays dramatic before and after shots of places heavily affected by Mother Nature, climate and urbanization. The large selection of images can be viewed by country, region, category and date as well as providing an educational backdrop to the image in front of you. You can just hear the opening swells of Earth song in the background as you flick through the stunning library of what’s happened to some of life’s greatest vistas. Shame on you, human race.
