Ball Park Music – Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs
Australian Indie-Rockers Ball Park Music have been around for a couple for years now and after two EP’s and five singles they have finally released their much anticipated and slowly produced debut album Happiness and Surrounding Suburbs.
The album opens up well with ‘Literally Baby’, which is fast paced, summery and has a juicy pop punk feel to it. Throughout the album you’ll laugh at some of the tongue in cheek lyrics which give these guys an indearing personality.
The song that made our ears prick up the most was the last track, ‘Happy Healthy Citizen Of The Developed World Blues’ not only for its elaborate name but also for its lyrical concept and the passion behind how the instruments are played. The guitarist’s hands must have been shaking after recording that one!
We couldn’t help but smile when we listened to Ball Park Music and if an album makes you smile then you know you’ll listen to it again and again.
Happiness And Surrounding Suburbs will be released 9th September 2011
