Band of the Week: More Than Conquerors
Sorry, who?
Four dudes of Northern Irish descent make up the melodious quartet that is More Than Conquerors.
They’re currently signed to Smalltown America, a label you’re likely not to have heard of considering it’s only a wee independent one from back home… but since when have independent labels ever produced anything less than awesome? Down with the major label corporations, that’s what we say!
More to the point, we’re sure it won’t be long before these boys are snapped up by bigger fish. They can already add T in The Park to their gig roster, as well as boasting that no less than the likes of Fearne Cotton and Huw Stevens have chosen to give them air time. Catch them now while they’re still mere tadpoles in the pool that is ‘the indie music scene’.
What do they sound like?
Describing their sound is difficult. Technically it’s Punk-Rock but saying that More Than Conquerors are Punk-Rock is like saying that Beyoncé is Pop; it’s a little underwhelming and frankly, doesn’t give anywhere near the whole picture.
Their tracks always manage to weave delicate melodies into complex guitar moments, with brilliant drum sections to boot. They’re really not comparable to anyone else which is what makes them so special.
What should I listen to?
If you want brand spanking new stuff try ‘Pits of Old’, the first single taken from their debut album, ‘Everything I’ve Learnt’. It’s angry and mosh-worthy in equal measure.

We kinda love their old stuff though, back in the heady days of 2010 when the boys were fresh-faced and new to the game. ‘Go on, Go on, Get Out’ is a brilliantly stirring track with goose-bump moments at the end of every verse. Feast your ears on ‘Go on, Go on, Get Out’ below:
