Bar Promotion faces Relegation

A Dublin pub has come under fire for a “sexist” promotion on offer during the European Championships after giving away free gin and tonics to any girl who can explain the offside rule to bar staff.

Maybe they should have made the same offer to Sunday league referees, most of whom seem to have only the thinnest grasp of the basic tenets of the game.

The Irish pub shared the promotion on social media with the rather optimistic hashtag #notsexist. Predictably, it didn’t stop the online backlash.

For anyone offended by the promotion, BBM recommends another Dublin pub that battles for women’s rights by employing all-female staff. It’s called Hooters, and the girls there are very bouncy and bubbly in their feminist paradise.
