Bat For Lashes Announce New Album
Bat for Lashes’ highly anticipated third album The Haunted Man is to be released on 12 October 2012 via Parlophone/EMI Music.
A full UK tour has just been announced, playing The Forum in London on 29 October and Natasha kicks off a summer of festival appearances including Latitude and Bestival, with an intimate warm up show in Cambridge tonight. Full details of all tour dates can be found at www.batforlashes.com
Since releasing the universally acclaimed album Two Suns in 2009, which has now sold over 250,000 copies, Natasha toured South America with Coldplay in 2010, collaborated with Beck to write a song for the Twilight film, Eclipse, headlined two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House in June 2011 and covered Depeche Mode’s ‘Strangelove’ for Gucci’s Guilty campaign, released on limited release on 7″ vinyl for this year’s Record Store Day in the UK.
Natasha has released two albums under the guise of Bat for Lashes. Her debut Fur And Gold came out in 2006 and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and earned two Brit Award nominations for ‘Best Female’ and ‘Best Newcomer’. Two Suns was also Mercury and Brit nominated, as well as winning Natasha an Ivor Novello songwriting award for ‘Daniel’ for ‘Best Contemporary Song’.
Praise for Bat For Lashes live in Australia:
“From the moment she walked on stage with her prodigiously talented musicians, Khan threw her voice and body into her performance with such commitment and enthusiasm, it was impossible not to be swept away by her musical tide.”
The Daily Telegraph June 7, 2011
“Adventurous, atmospheric songs with a theatrical edge”
Sydney Morning Herald June 6, 2011
“It took five years but Natasha Khan’s maiden voyage to Sydney was well worth the wait. The English siren seduced with her towering voice and mystic pop songs about wizards and wounded love. Flanked by her band, a string quartet and cinematic visuals, she appeared a lithe, elfin figure on stage but sounded both huge and ethereal. ‘‘I wish you could all come downhere so I could just touch you,” she cooed to the crowd. The feeling was mutual.”
Sydney Morning Herald: Best Gigs of 2011. December 11, 2011
