If you’re looking to further your career in hospitality then BarMax can help you. BarMax run courses in cocktail making as well as RSA’s and RCG’s for New South Wales. Here we find out a bit more about how BarMax can help you.

As we’re now well into 2015, what does the team at BarMax have new planned in terms of courses?
RSA, RCG, bar skills, cocktail with more to follow…..Plan to be able to offer Certificate 2 up to a diploma in hospitality. We also will continue to do what we do best and that is get our students work ready.

What does a person gain from completing the various courses with BarMax, such as the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG)?
At BarMax we care about our training and our goal is to make sure that you enter the industry with confidence, a good understanding of the background in the Hospitality Industry of Australia. We get you work ready and have great industry recognition.

How does holding these certificates improve your chances of becoming a professional mixologist?
Without the RSA as a minimum you will never gain employment as a bar person. Experience in the industry is crucial to becoming a professional Mixologist, however first and foremost you need to learn the basics the right way as this will set you up for a great career.

What opportunities are available to those after completing a number of courses with BarMax?
These courses not only give you confidence but also grounding and understanding of what is required in the industry as your ultimate goal might be to work in a 5 star hotel which will require you to further develop your learning in Certificate 2, 3 or 4 and Diploma in hospitality.

Is there a period where they need or are advised to renew their certificates for NSW?
Yes, since 22nd August 2011 the NSW Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing introduced the Photo Competency Card to replace all paper certificates as far back as 1997. Currently the industry is going through a transition period where all students who completed their certificate prior to 31st December 2009 must renew by 30th June 2015. And yes you have to sit the whole course again unfortunately!

Any further advice for people who are considering signing up to one of your courses?
If you love hospitality this is where you start. Well recognised in the industry, courses are designed
for people to be confident to walk behind any bar and go! It’s what employers are looking for.

Book your course at www.barmax.com.au.
