Get Ready For Some Extraterrestrial Music
Ben UFO will be heading to Australia this coming December for a very comprehensive run of dates.
British-born Ben UFO has made a name for himself in the UK and worldwide as one third of dance music label Hessle Audio. He is also one of the remaining few DJs in the UK to have made an impact on the electronic music scene without ever entering the world of production.
Ben UFO’s early career was shaped primarily by two nights taking place in London and Leeds in the UK – DMZ and Sub Dub. The emerging dubstep scene in both cities, along with the reggae, dub and jungle scene of the time set the foundation for Ben’s diverse, eclectic and ultimately successful DJ career which is today, as active as ever. He is a regular inclusion to Resident Advisor’s annual Top 100 DJ poll, and last year he polled in the Top 5; many say he is the DJs DJ, his sets usually filled with the sort of tunes which he seems to have the only copy of. There really are not many who can claim to be a bigger crate digger than Ben UFO.
It all starts on the 2nd of December at Brisbane’s The Kush Club, after which he heads to Melbourne for the Circoloco event at Brown Alley alongside Seth Troxler, and the Subsonic Festival just outside of Sydney the very next day. On Friday the 9th December he will head west to Perth for a show at Geisha Bar before he heads east again for the Sydney edition of Circoloco on Saturday the 10th December during the day, and then on the plane again to go to Victoria for the Meredith Festival that very same night. It all finishes on Sunday the 11th of December with a show in Auckland at the Auckland Art Gallery.
