Coffee is what you need to cure a hangover. The caffeine will have your veins jumping for joy and the sluggish feeling you get will slowly dissipate whilst the strong taste of coffee is enough to wake any sore brain up. Degraves’ is an unassuming little place, a place where you can linger, read a newspaper and enjoy the coffee or a big breakfast, or some maple syrup with bacon an maple syrup amongst other breakfast staples like BBM’s personal favourite, the croissant. Esplanade Hotel
The Esplanade Hotel is more of an institution of Melbourne than it is a café. But they do some good food in view of the sea with a nice calm atmosphere and great service. The weekned sees the Epsy deal out $10 breakfasts, clearly knowing that people are going to be in need of it over the weekend. The offer the big breakfast, like most of our establishments, Bacon strips, free-range however you like it and sausages with a grilled tomato on some toast. What’s wrong with a classic; if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Big Mouth Cafe
Like potato and onions smashed together and then fried for you eating pleasure? Then Big Mouth Café is where you want to be, considering they’re regarded as having the best in town. Try the St Kilda Hash; it consists of those lovely homemade hahbrowns, bacon, avacado salsa, spinach and a cheeky poached egg on top. Get it down you and I guarantee you’ll feel better.

Dead Man Espresso
Dead Man Espresso have, quite simply, a breakfast menu to die for. Raisin toast with raspberry butter, traditional scones, buttermilk banana pancakes, almost anything with Istra bacon on it… is your mouth watering yet? If, after a night out, you just want to cram as much sugary goodness into your body as possible, then you really ought to try this place. And we haven’t even mentioned their coffee yet. They use the best beans from the best roasters which are guaranteed to give you that extra boost you’re probably going to need.
