Bicep Set To Flex Australasian Dates
The current kings of classic house, Irish duo Bicep, will be coming back down under later this month.
There can be no doubt that Bicep is currently one of the scene’s most loved duo’s with regular bookings all over the world. Their career started off with their ‘Feel my Bicep’ blog which gained popularity for their posts about long-lost disco classics and forgotten house gems. This hobby turned into a full blown profession and record label too (entitled Feel my Bicep), and now Bicep is considered as one of the planet’s foremost dance taste-makers.
Of late, they have shown a healthy interest in re-visiting the more melodic elements of trance music’s uplifting backbone. They just remixed State 808’s ‘In Yer Face’, and they also recently compiled an after hours mix for BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong which featured ‘a collection of pitched down early 90s trance re-edits’. This come sas no surprise though as there recent productions, ‘Just’, and their remix of Isaac Tichauer’s ‘Higher Level’, already hinted towards this melodic trance throwback.
The tour starts 24th September in Jakarta at the Invasion Festival, before they move on to Bali to play at the W Hotel the very next day. On Thursday the 29th the Australian portion of the tour start for the smalltown crew at Brown Alley in Melbourne – which is fitting as the next day is a public holiday to get you excited for the AFL finals (no really, Melbourne receives a public holiday for the AFL grand final). The boys will probably have to nurse their hangover on the plane as they head to Auckland that Friday to play for the Friendly Potential crew at Impala. Once again the boys will head to straight to the airport to go play Brisbane’s TBC Club on the Saturday, after which they fly to Sydney for Motorik’s shindig at UTS Laneway & Underground. Phew.
