Booka Shade Announce Australia Tour To Celebrate New Album

After a career that has so far spanned 25 years, Berlin-based double act Booka Shade show no signs of slowing down. The duo, made up of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier have just announced some exciting headline DJ dates in October 2013 across Australia.

The pairing, who originated as conquerors of the underground scene, have gone from strength to strength, remixing the tracks of a list of artists that reads like a who’s who of Electronica. From Moby to Depeche Mode and Hot Chip, the list is impressive. But building on their remixing success, Booka Shade have become renowned for releasing some of the most anthemic tunes in the House music world.

The brief DJ tour consists of four dates, across Melbourne (which is already sold out – begging, borrowing or stealing may be the only option now) Perth, Sydney and Newcastle, and is all in aid of the announcement of their new album.

The latest record, Eve, which is due for release on November 1st 2013, will be the sixth album from the duo since 2004. The first single released will be Love Inc.

Having been personally chosen by Pete Tong to mix his notorious annual All Gone Ibiza compilation, there’s no doubt that Booka Shade aren’t at the top of their game. With the iconic, emotive sets they are so renowned for playing they look set to smash the dates they’ve just released, which includes a spot at the top of the bill of Newcastle’s number one festival, Fat As Butter.
