Bridget Jones Fans Shocked At Darcy’s Death
After a preview of Helen Fielding’s new book, fans are devastated to find out that Bridget’s leading man had been killed off. Yes, that’s right, Mark Darcy is no more! His death has resulted in Bridget being left to look after their two children, Mabel and Billy, as a widow. Surely, Bridget Jones will never be the same.
After eagerly awaiting the arrival of Fielding’s third installment to the much loved series, many have taken to social networking sites such as Twitter as they were left horrified by the news of the fictional character’s untimely death. Some have gone so far as to say that they will be boycotting the novel in order to protest their feelings towards its unexpected and unwelcome twist.
The new book ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’, which will be released on the 10th October 2013, portrays poor Bridget getting herself tied up with toy boy, 29 year old Roxster, and having a go at internet dating whilst caring for her two children alone. Quite different to the first two installments when Bridget’s problems only went so far as to wearing the wrong knickers and flashing her ass to a live television audience.
Ex-boyfriend and former ‘love rat’ Mr. Daniel Cleaver features in the novel as the godfather to her two children who hilariously “can be relied upon for babysitting duties and inappropriate sexual advances towards their mother”.
No Bridget Jones novel can be without naughty Mr. Cleaver but unfortunately there can be one without the lovable Mr. Darcy.
Fielding, who will be speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival next month, sure has some explaining to do!
