Bulletproof- Dub Me Crazy
The beginning of the album is a bit more of what I call ‘pub-step’; sort of like the pop music of the dub world, made with vocals and melodies to appeal to the masses rather than encapsulate dubs true form but by the time you get to the “instrumental” tracks like ‘Madness’ and ‘Sahara’ Bulletproof really puts the dirt back into it and on full volume the dub beast will certainly come and fuel your body to move and the further into the album the dirtier the dub becomes.
‘Dub Me Crazy’ is very easy to dance to and there are decent glimpses of some great dub step production talent; everything runs very smoothly and there are no obviously misplaced or badly mixed beats amongst the plethora of percussion samples and mixes.
“Dub Me Crazy’ does feature a few fantastic heavier dub tracks; ‘Masquerade’ with Crushington is great, but overall this is a slightly more commercial CD, so chances are dub step fans will only like a few of the tracks and general fans of dub/dance/house fusion type music will love playing this on full bore from their cars.
