Unlock the Secrets of the World’s Oldest Tropical Rain forest

Set off on an exciting adventure of discovery through the oldest tropical rainforest that is still in existence today.

Indulge in the sights, sounds, and tranquilly of one of the most botanically intriguing locations on earth on the legendary Skyrail experience—a must-do Cairns attraction that offers a genuinely unique view of Australia’s World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest.

Rainforest Boardwalk from Red Peak Station

The verdant rainforest surrounds Red Peak Station (545 m above sea level), and a 175 m boardwalk gives visitors the best chance to explore the forest at ground level. A wide variety of flora and animals, including tall trees, palm trees, ferns, and more, keep an eye on the station. You will see the actual magnificence of these old woods here. You may take advantage of the free guided boardwalk excursions that run all day long. The Rangers from Skyrail are happy to provide entertaining and educational excursions, sharing their extensive knowledge of this amazing ecosystem.

Barron Falls at Mid-Station

Reboard the cableway and continue your Skyrail experience to the second stop (mid-station, Barron Falls). Make sure to relax and absorb the rainforest ambience before getting back on the way. On the way up to Barron Falls Station, you’ll get breathtaking views of the deep gorge known as Barron Gorge, which is surrounded by granite cliffs and lush flora. Barron Falls Station has three distinct lookouts that provide breathtaking views of the Falls and Gorge, and they are all accessible by paths that wind through the jungle. From December through March, when it’s green (wet), these Falls are quite stunning. The cutting-edge Rainforest Interpretation Centre is located at this station. Created in partnership with Australia’s preeminent scientific research agency, the Centre has an interactive rainforest habitat exhibit with visuals. In addition, it serves as the starting point for the Aboriginal Guided Walking Tours of Djabugay.
Seize the opportunity to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring beauty of the tropical rainforest and cross another item off the list.
Skyrail is the most breathtaking rainforest experience on Earth, and it has won many Qantas Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism.
