Calling Outdoor Thrillseekers To Melbourne Adventure Hub
Being stuck for something to do this summer can be an agonising prospect, and sometimes you just want to get out of the city and experience the vast, intimidating country. You’ll most likely find what you’re looking for at Melbourne Adventure Hub, where the guys have put the land to great use, with must-do activities at a very reasonable price.
If the $110pp white water rafting is out of your budget, you can always opt for white water kayaking on the Yarra River. At an easier pace, it’s also $30 cheaper for three whole hours and includes a free cellar door wine tasting at Rochford Wines – after you’ve had fun in the water, obviously.
What we would have to recommend though, is the outdoor rock climbing. Viewing Victoria’s marvellous landscape at its best, visitors can take on either the Brisbane Ranges, Werribee Gorge or Mt. Macedon, all less than an hour’s drive from the heart of the city.
Sitting atop Mt. Macedon lies the Camel’s Hump, a steep, craggy dome of lava where climbers can embark on different routes to reach the top. On the Camel’s Hump Track, there’s all sorts of adventure to be had and a whole three hours to do it in. Best of all, it’s much less than $100, at just $80pp.
So grab your mates, take an exhilarating climb, and be back in time for tea with money in your pocket.
