Carl Bee’s ‘Untifight’ EP is out now on Intec
What’s your name and what do you do?
Carl Bee, I’m a DJ & Producer
What kind of music do you play?
If I had to specify the music I play, I would call it “Techno Oriented House Music”. However, it’s very difficult to pigeonhole myself into one genre as it all depends on which slot I’m playing and the environment I’m in!!
But for sure, it falls in the path between House & Techno.
What would you say is your biggest influence?
Day-to-day life is an influence in itself, but, I would say the biggest inspiration for me which influences me a lot, is the people who somehow make success in their own way, by working hard against the struggles that life can bring. People who fall down but never have the thought of quitting!
Where’s the best club you’ve ever played?
Uno Village in Malta is on the top of my list at the moment!
And the best festival?
BPM Festival, I’ve played other amazing festivals like Anice Mac Presents Lost & Parklife, but I love BPM.
Where’s your hometown?
“Gzira” in the Maltese Islands
What’s your favorite local bar/restaurant/bar/club?
Local Bar – I’m not a bar person at all ☺ However, there are a few small local bars where me and my friends all hang out to watch a football match every now and again!
Restaurant – There are too many good ones in Malta, but at the moment “BAHIA” Restaurant is my favorite.
Club – UNO Village
Where’s your favourite clubbing destination?
Amsterdam is definitely one of my favorites. There’s a few really cool locations and venues there!
Is there something you can’t travel without?
My phone… It Keeps me connected.
What travel destination would you recommend our readers add to their bucket list?
If you haven’t traveled to Malta yet, do it!.. Your missing out! The sun shines almost all year round, and there’s a lot to discover on the island! ☺
Where was the most surprising place you discovered a big music influence?
Recently I was in this restaurant/lounge in Paris. There was a local DJ playing some really cool music – not loud obviously, but it was perfect for that environment!
I always appreciate artists who know how to adapt to the music they play according to what they have and where they are!! Music selection is a very important thing!
