Time To Visit Planet E
Widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the second wave of Detroit Techno, Grammy-nominated Carl Craig brings his world-renowned artistry Down Under for a five date tour over the New Year period.
Born in Detroit, Craig drew influence from the first wave of Detroit Techno created and championed by the likes of Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Sanderson. His career has seen him take influence from jazz, funk and classical music to create his own sound which has since become synonymous with second-wave Detroit Techno.
Craig has worked tirelessly throughout his career as a DJ, producer and a highly sought-after and respected remixer, even gaining a Grammy nomination for his remix of ‘Like a Child’ by Junior Boys. On top of this, Craig has seen worldwide success with his legendary record label Planet-E. The common thread throughout the prolific producer’s career has been a fascination with futurism; he has created a unique career as an artist and entrepreneur, guided by his tendency towards forward thinking and an unwavering love for his home town of Detroit.
Craig kicks off his Australian tour at the Capulet Bar in Brisbane on 29th December; he will then play the Geisha Bar in Perth on the 30th December, before playing two shows on New Year’s Eve at Beyond the Valley Festival and a headline show at The Prince of Wales, both in Melbourne. He will conclude his tour on the 1st January at Space Ibiza Festival in Sydney.
