Cathode Ray Tube Return This November With ‘A Steady Rain’
Remember the time Hugh Jackman went off at an audience member in the front row when their phone rang during a performance? That show was ‘A Steady Rain’ and the Australian premiere plays from Tuesday 20th November until Saturday 8th December at the TAP Gallery, Darlinghurst, Sydney.
A little bit of the original ‘Starsky & Hutch’ mixed with a dose of ‘The Wire’, Cathode Ray Tube are proud to present their highly anticipated fourth production, under the direction of Owen Trevor, who is the director of the UK’s most successful car infatuated programme, BBC’s Top Gear.
Planning on going to see the show? Well we thought we’d help you out a little and give you the lowdown of the performance just to make it clearer to how great it actually is.
The dark duologue, filled with sharp storytelling and biting repartee, explores the complexities of a lifelong bond tainted by the rough streets of Chicago. Best friends since kindergarten, Denny and Joey (played by Michael Booth and Sam O’Sullivan) have been working together as cops on the beat for several years. When a domestic disturbance call takes a turn for the worse, their friendship is put on the line. The result is a harrowing journey into a moral grey area where trust and loyalty struggle for survival against a sobering backdrop of pimps, prostitutes, and criminal lowlifes.
Pimps, Prostitutes and Criminal offences… Well I think it’s safe to say this show is far from the boring, dull, everyday ones you’d normally fall upon! Catch up with the shenanigans from the hit show ‘A Steady Rain’ at the TAP Gallery in Sydney, you wont regret this one, and that’s a guarantee!
