Hernan Cattaneo Announce Balance Comp

Aussie label Balance Music is still continuing its quest to champion the world’s most talented underground house and techno heroes. Last year saw them release mix compilations by artists like Patrice Baumel, Alex Niggemann and tech house titan Darius Syrossian, whose mix was rooted in his Do Not Sleep residency in Ibiza. On top of that, their podcasts are really starting to become one of the scene’s go-to series’ – and as a starting point we can recommend the efforts by Scottish young gun Theo Kottis and Pastamusik label boss Daniel Bortz.

For the next 2CD release the label has roped in an old Balance family friend, South American superstar Hernan Cattaneo who will become the first artist to complete 2 Balance mixes (this new release follows Cattaneo’s 2014 double disc effort). This news have arrived in the nick of time as the South American is set to tour Australia in the coming weeks too.

For this Balance outing the DJ will be presenting unreleased gems from his acclaimed Sudbeat label which he describes as “Global in ethos; South American in spirit.” Founded in 2009, Cattaneo co-runs the label alongside Graziano Raffa, and together they have built a treasure trove of underground dance tracks from some of the world’s biggest producers, as well as fostering countless new talents. “We both think that musical identity is crucial” explains Cattaneo, and it’s something that’s stamped all over the double disc compilation which comprises entirely of unreleased, exclusive material from the label’s roster.
