City dwellers, prepare yourselves for an invasion of big boots and even bigger hats. It’s that time of year again where the country comes to the city, bringing with a whole host of entertainment with it. Yes, you guessed it; it’s the Sydney Royal Easter show!
An institution since 1823, the show celebrates the best Australia has to offer, from food and drink to plants and animals, as well as providing a great family day out. Or maybe even a few days; there’s so much to see and do you might just find yourself going back for more.
Indulge in Australia’s best produce, spruce yourself up with a spot of shopping, or get your thrills at the carnival. No matter what your interests there’s more than likely something that will grab your attention.
There are over 14,000 animals on display hailing from the farm yard to the jungle, and an animal nursery for a face to face encounter. On the more action-packed side of things are the international rodeo, the wood chop competition and the polo. Don’t worry there’s no need to haul a picnic around with you all day either, there are over 160 food outlets offering not just Australia’s finest but a range of international cuisine too.
A great line-up of evening entertainment means that the fun doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down. Famous horse show The Man from Snowy is back, as well as daredevils on two wheels performing aerial acrobatics, otherwise known as Showtime FMX. Throw in a sprinkling of spectacular pyrotechnics and you’ve got a pretty impressive end to what will be a pretty impressive day.
The show is taking place at Sydney Olympic Park from Thursday 17th March to Wednesday 20th March. Make sure you don’t miss out!
