Follow us on Google News

Morocco makes for the perfect getaway all year round. Offering mild winters, balmy summers, and enough culture to feed your travel bug for years to come.

From the edges of the Sahara desert to the bumpy trails of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco has adventure and culture by the bucket load. Upon arriving in this energetic country, you’ll immediately be confronted by a blend of cultures and influences like no other place in the world.

In the bustling souks you’ll find colourful mountains of spices that look too perfect to be true, then turn around and you’ll find Moroccan embroidered slippers in every colour imaginable.

The souks are a tourist haven where you’ll instantly start trying to think of ways to ship back as much Moroccan furniture as possible as well as working out how many kgs of spices you can take back with you. But slow your roll as if there’s one thing Morocco is good for, it’s shopping. So try not to go overboard as you never know what might be around the corner.

Even as you take to the Atlas Mountains you may encounter even more shopping opportunities – especially the famous Moroccan carpets, so make sure you save your pennies and your hand luggage as you don’t want to cramp your touring by lugging too many new wares around with you.

Aside from shopping and stunning architecture, Morocco is also famous for its cuisine. From succulent lamb tajines to cous cous and the offer of mint tea wherever you go, the food is simply stunning. However, always remember to drink bottled water only and fully cooked food!

From Casablanca to Essaouira, there’s so much to see and experience in Morocco. Encounters Travel offer a selection of cultural and desert tours and trips in Morocco ranging from 4 – 12 days meaning you can have that classic moment atop a camel in the sand dunes as well as experiences all of the above.
