Cyrus vs. O’Connor
So after the queen of controversy Miley Cyrus, 20, made the fatal mistake of comparing her embarrassing video for ‘Wrecking Ball’ to that of Sinead O’Connor’s classic ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, all hell has broke loose.
Cyrus – who swings naked on a demolition ball and tongues a sledge hammer in her music video (can she ever keep that tongue in her mouth?!) – has since lashed out at her ‘role model’ O’Connor, following that notorious open letter we’ve all heard so much about.
O’Connor, 46, insisted the original letter that she wrote to Cyrus was meant in a ‘mothering, loving’ way, yet the condescending overtones (an example: “please, in future, say no when you are asked to prostitute yourself”) clearly infuriated Cyrus.
The twerking diva took to Twitter to retaliate, linking her followers to O’Connor’s previous tweets about her bipolar condition (see below) and a shot of her ripping up a picture of Pope John Paul II. She also compared O’Connor to the likes of Amanda Bynes, openly mocking those who suffer from mental illnesses. Nice.
Following this, O’Connor stated “taking me on is even more f**king stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism”, and has since demanded Cyrus make a public apology unless she wants legal action to follow.
So now we play the waiting game!
