Daniel Haaksman Crosses Continents In His New Album

Daniel Haaksman is a man of many talents. He runs a label, is a published journalist and still finds time to make groundbreaking music.

The Berlin based DJ gave birth to ‘Baile Funk’ and has continued to break ground on bringing international music to Europe.

His new collaborative album, African Fabrics, is a departure from Baile Funk. He uses artists from all over Africa to create an amazing tapestry of sounds.

Our favourite track from the album is Africa. An amazing voyage through history sung in the regional Angolan language of Kimbunde The space in this track is almost haunting and the lyrics cover the history of Africa from slavery through to the present.
