Visit National Parks and have a outback adventure

Visit some of the best national parks in the area, where you can stroll through beautiful red rock landscapes and swim under the waterfalls of the most beautiful natural settings. Discover the striped beauty of the Bungle Bungles, explore the glorious Kimberley Gorge, have fun with the dolphins on the Monkey Mia Beach.  Swim over coral reef, which was declared as a World Heritage Site. Darwin to Perth the distances are huge, but the pace is slow, making it the perfect outback adventure.

Moving on from Broome

Leaving Broome, you take the Great Northern Highway to Derby and the start of Gibb River Road. You can visit the Windjana Gorge and cross Tunnel Creek before setting up the first bush camps. The next few days can be spent exploring the rivers and gorges of the Gibb River Road. These include the Lennard River, Bell, Adcock, Galvans, Manning and Barnett Gorge. Spend your time trekking, swimming, leaping in pools, camp out at breathtaking locations and observing the ancient ancestral art of Wandjina and Bradshaw. Finally, on Gibb River Road, you should stop over at Pentecost, Cockburn Ranges, and Emma Gorge before moving to Kununurra.

Exiting places to visit icluding the Bungle Bungles

The next day, cross Turkey Creek and move to Purnunulu National Park, home of the Bungle Bungles, to explore Echidna Chasm and camp. Then wander through Cathedral Gorge, Beehive Domes and Piccaninny Creek, heading to the airstrip for optional helicopter flights over Bungle Bungles. After the Bungle Bungles return to Kununurra and go to Lake Argyle to swim, take a fantastic boat cruise before camping on an exclusive lakefront island. Once back from the island, leave Western Australia and cross Timber Creek in the Northern Region before settling on the Victoria River. Visit Katherine Hot Springs, dip in Edith Falls before crossing the Adelaide River to the north and reach Darwin early in the evening.
