Delano Smith To Bring Detroit to Australia

One of the most pivotal figures in Detroit House, Delano Smith, have announced his Australian return.

Raised and based in Detroit, Delano Smith is regarded as one of the stalwarts of Detroit House. Smith can lay claim to a legacy that most Detroit jocks cannot having started DJing before Djing was even a profession. He is one of the most respected members of the Detroit movement by his peers, with mainstay Derrick May once saying that “Without Delano there would be no Derrick.”

In terms of his production, he has gone on to release on labels like Third Ear, Sushitech and Still Music, as well as his own label Mixmode, which he established with Tony Foster in 2003. Since he last toured Australia, Delano Smith has been busy in the studio with the release of his From Silence EP earlier this year, marking his return to Berlin based Sushitech Records.

Delano Smith will kick of the tour at Brown Alley in Melbourne on Friday 22nd July for Novel’s Friends of Friends party, before heading to Sydney the next day for a Bare Essentials party at Cafe Del Mar.
