A combination of complex cultures, rich history and natural beauty creates an enticing destination in Vietnam. From world-class beaches to limestone islands and rice fields to city laneways, there are so many different landscapes to witness and wander during 20 days on A Cultural Paradise.

Free & Easy Traveler can take you to this destination and let you explore it at a relaxed, casual pace. There’s no rigid schedule or packed days, just lots of free time spent in amazing locations with plenty of activities for you to do as much or as little as you please, including tasting amazing food, learning to cook it for yourself and meeting new people. Travelling from Ho Chi Minh City, north through the entire length of Vietnam to Hanoi, you can experience an array of magical places including Halong Bay, Jungle Beach and Sapa, with a total of seven stops.

Three days are spent enjoying the local buzz and many sights of Ho Chi Minh, with visits to the War Remnants Museum, Cu Chi Tunnels and free time to explore before you leave on a night train to Nha Trang. Disembarking the night train in Jungle Beach, you can soak up a truly secluded paradise that you only have to share with the locals. With some of the warmest, clearest water in Asia, beachside BBQs and bonfires, and lazing around in hammocks with some of the best (and cheapest at $4-5 a bottle) rum around, it truly is heaven.

The charming city of Hoi An is your next stop, with the potential to buy cheap tailor-made clothes alongside one of the best opportunities to try scuba diving! Leaving the city on the back of a motorbike, you ride up the coast to Hue, passing white-sand beaches, historical temples, colonial towns, rice fields and the remarkable Hai Van Pass: which will provide some of the most amazing views in Vietnam. Once you reach the ancient capital, which was built around the Perfume River, you take the night train to Hanoi to continue your journey of discovery.

After arriving in Hanoi, you and your group take a bus to Sapa, an old French-built town deep in the hills of Northern Vietnam. One of the most picturesque towns imaginable, you can only stare in amazement at the towering rice terraces and ancient hill-tribe villages that surround you, while exploring the markets and tasting locally grown coffee. A full day in Sapa is spent on a rice terrace trek, offering incredible views and an insight into hill-tribe lifestyle with a night spent in a small village.

After some relaxation, it’s back to Hanoi to discover this bustling yet beautiful city boasting the Old Town, museums, pagodas, art and crafts shops and many culturally significant things sites. Another trip from Hanoi is to Halong Bay, where you board your very own private junk-style ship to cruise the 3,000 limestone islands of the bay. Complete with a bar, sun deck, dining area, shared cabins, bathrooms, cooks, guides and music, you can enjoy an overnight stay on board to wake up on the smooth emerald waters.

Returning back to Hanoi, you can immerse yourself further into the culture, lifestyle and entertainment of Hanoi with shopping and nightlife as the 20 days on Cultural Paradise come to an end.

A Cultural Paradise with Free & Easy Traveler provides included and optional activities over 20 days so you can create the experience that you want. All accommodation and local transport are included, with some special group meals organised for you to get to know your fellow travellers. There are flight and land packages available.
