Discover Tamborine Mountain
Behind the blue waters and golden sands of the Gold Coast lies a green oasis just 30km away. An area of natural beauty and tranquillity, Tamborine Mountain is host to an array of attractions wrapped up in the lush surroundings of the hinterland. Here are just a few of our favourites…
Glow Worm Caves
One of the largest colonies of glow worms live in the caves of Tamborine Mountain, providing a sight quite like no other. Within the limestone caves are stalagmites, stalactites and underground rivers, and in the deepest cave is where you can witness the glow worms light up the cave like stars in the night sky.
Waterfalls
Tamborine Mountain is blessed with beautiful waterfalls that flow all year round and have major pulling power for first-time and returning visitors. They may take a bit of a walk to get to, but their breathtaking beauty is worth it. From Cedar Creek Falls to Witches Falls, most have a platform for the perfect view, but Curtis Falls is perhaps the most remarkable as you can view it from the bottom where the large rock pool lays.
Rainforest Skywalk
Capture a sight of Tamborine Mountain from way up high on the Rainforest Skywalk. Elevated within and above the dense rainforest, there are lookout points for amazing views or flora and fauna including rock pools and butterflies. Taking about 50 minutes, it offers a completely different perception of the stunning area.
Wineries
In all that thick vegetation, there are wineries in Tamborine Mountain that beckon any respectable wine drinker to the area. From Cedar Creek Estate to Mason Wines Vineyard, you can enjoy the fresh mountain air beside high quality wines with tours and tastings available.
Spas and Retreats
Where better to escape the chores of city life than in the middle of a jungle paradise? There are day spas and longer retreats providing massage, facials, manicures and a place to relax and unwind, perfectly hidden within the depths of Tamborine Mountain. With accommodation options including villas and hotel rooms, you’ll realise that there’s really nothing quite like sleeping in the rainforest.
