Dune Rats 2019 – London San Sebastian Pamplona – Stoke Travel early summer 2019 shows across Spain and the UK.
Hot off the electro heels of Art Vs Science’s 2018 Spanish festival domination, Stoke Travel has booked Aussie surf/scum rock heroes, Dune Rats, for a string of early summer 2019 shows across Spain and the UK.
Kicking the party off in Barcelona with a show in the city, Stoke will wheel Dune Rats across to London, for the Big Day Out on the 15th of June, across to Haro, La Rioja, for the San Vino Wine Fight festival, followed by a show in San Sebastian on the 4th of July, and then the granpappy that is Stoked in the Park, taking place in Pamplona on the 7th and 8th of July.
With neither group being unafraid of a party, Dune Rats and Stoke Travel are lovers of each other’s mothers, two peas in the same cheap-beer soaked pod. While their paths haven’t yet crossed, there’s almost a total crossover of previous and future Stoke Travel guests who enjoy the Dunies and their live shows. Fortunately for Stoke, Dune Rats were taking a break from serious touring in order to record their third album and figured a National Lampoons-style European vacation would be just what they needed to get the creative juices flowing.
Inviting Dune Rats to the party is just the latest move in Stoke Travel’s campaign to stay relevant to travellers, by creating experiences that they cannot possibly replicate on their own. In this age of “do it yourself” travelling, and faced with a multitude of options when it comes to planning and booking trips, Stoke Travel has decided to provide once-in-a-lifetime travelling experiences – staying with popular bands and listening to them play within stumbling distance from your accommodations, all included in the nightly fee.
This is best exemplified at Stoked in the Park, Pamplona, which is Stoke Travel’s way to encourage travellers back to the northern Spanish city and show them that there is so much more to the city, and festivals of San Fermin, than the increasingly unpopular bull run. Stoke Travel wants travellers to come for the music, the culture and the street parties, and to enjoy some days in the Spanish sun getting soaked inside and out in sangria, and the opportunity to stay and play with Dune Rats, as well as our Soundcheck battle of the bands winners, plus a bunch of special guests, should encourage travellers to learn that there is so much more to Pamplona than they previously thought.
The Stoke events that will feature Dune Rats are already some of Stoke’s most popular, and the addition of Australia’s favourite dirtbags will ensure that they sell out. It is worth everyone’s while to reserve your space now, and get a chance to rub shoulders with Dune Rats, while experiencing Europe’s biggest and best festivals, and maybe cracking a cold one or 20.
