Eats Everything: recorded live at Fabric NYE 2015/16
Eats Everything has stepped up to join the fabric compilation series, which has a reputation for hosting mixes from some of the worlds top house artists. This is a notable highlight for Eats, who first took on the famous Fabric decks back in 2011 and hasn’t looked back since, playing all three rooms in the club. The mix was recorded live at Fabric on NYE.
The end result is a musical treat for all lovers of house, from classic to modern. Included in the mix are two special new tracks – Lauren Lane’s playful ‘The Diary of a Madwoman’ and ‘Baby Talk’, a production that Cajmere created especially for this mix. Eats explains that all the songs “have some kind of meaning to me and I have played every one of them at fabric. Some are new, some are bangers, some are groovers, some are trippy some are euphoric, but they are all ‘fabric records” This set has everything house enthusiasts could want and more, with ‘Kaimanawa’ really standing out above the rest. This tracks mix of uplifting chords, cowbells and high paced vocals really keep the listener on the edge before the emotional synths transcend into animalistic bass that changes the mood from anticipation to complete disarray.
Fabric 86 marks the start of what looks to be a rollercoaster year for the Bristol DJ. He worked non-stop throughout 2015 to build his label Edible, on top of touring relentlessly. Look out for Eats collaboration with house legend Green Velvet as well as productions on both Edible and Pets records in the coming year.
