EP Review: Kins – Kins
Having swayed between several different genres over the last couple of years it seems that Kins are finally ready to settle into their own skin.
The band was started in Melbourne, but the group now resides in the sunny seaside town of Brighton, UK, and whilst there’s limited exposure to be found online, it’s this new collection of songs that have really caught our eye.
Their tone is in a similar vein to the mighty Wild Beasts, but where they differ, they prevail. There’s a ‘less-is-more’ approach taken to the delicate songs, and ‘Pale Faced Fear’ is a stunning place to start. Its introduction is smothered in echo and gently builds to a glorious arrangement of rolling beats and smooth vocals.
These guys have surely got a bright future ahead of them.
